Be it Remembered, That on this day to-wit: the Nineteenth of January in the 
year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven...personally 
appeared, 

Joseph Faust, a native of this city residing #1401 Bartholomew St 
who hereby declares, that on the Twenty Eighth of August (Aug 28/86) at his 
residence was born 

a female child, named Josephine Faust (White) 

Lawful issue of Deponent a native of this city aged 43 years, occupation gardner 
and Marguerite Baumgartner a native of Germany, aged 31 years, Thus done at 
New Orleans, in the presence of the aforesaid J. Faust as also in that of 
Messrs. P.H. Lanauze, S.B. Schenck both of this City...
