Be it Remembered, That on this day to wit: The tenth of March in 
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six  
[10 March 1856] ... before me, Pierre Lacoste, duly commissioned 
and sworn Recorder of Births and Deaths, in and for the parish and 
City of Orleans, 

personally appeared, 
Mr. Adolphe Desire Garcia, a native of the City of New Orleans, a 
mechanic, age about thirty four years residing in this city No. 263 
Marais street who by these presents declares that on the eleventh 
of February one thousand eight hundred and fifty six (11th February 
1856) at ten o'clock a.m. at deponents aforesaid residence was born 
a male child named 

			Eugene Garcia

issue of the legitimate marriage of deponent with Marie Thervile, 
a native of Nantes, France.

Thus done at New Orleans, in the presence of the aforesaid 
Mr. Adolphe Desire Garcia ...
