M. Crozat, duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Births and Deaths in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, personally appeared, Mr. Pablo Gelpi, a merchant, a native of Cataluno Spain, residing on old Levee Street No. 131 in the first Municipality, who by these presents declares that on the twentieth day of March of this present year (March 20th, 1848) at eight o'clock a. m. at his aforesaid residence, was born a male child named Jerome Joseph Paul Gelpi issue of the legitimate marriage of deponent with Miss Rosa Esilda Viosca a native of this city. The Paternal grandparents of said child being Mr. Johia [sic]Gelpi and Miss Rosa Fylva [sic]. The maternal grandparents Mr. Joachim Viosca and Miss Carmilite Elliot.
