Be it Remembered, That on this day to-wit: the Twenty Eighth of 
May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eigth Hundred and Eighty 
Five ... before me Joseph Holt, M. D. ... in and for the Parish 
and City of New Orleans, 

personally appeared: 
Paul Gelpi, a native of this city, residing at No. 287 Esplanade 
Street, who hereby declares, that on the second instant (2 May 1885) 
at his aforesaid residence, in this city, was born a male child, 
named 

			Vivian Charles Gelpi (white) 

lawful issue of deponent, a native of this city aged 38 years, 
occupation Merchant, and Louise Baudier a native of this city, 
aged 35 years. 

Thus done in New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Paul Gelpi ...
