M. Crozat, duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Births and Death in and for the Parish and City of Orleans personally appeared Mr. Jean Francois Legier, a native of this city residing on Morales street between Marigny and Mandeville streets in the third Municipality of this city who by these presents declares that on the third day of March eighteen hundred and forty-six ( March 3d, 1846) at five o’clock A. M. at his aforesaid residence was born a male child named Octave Hippolyte Legier, issue of the legitimate marriage of deponent with Mrs. Barbe Octavie Newman, a native of this city. The paternal grandparents of said child being Mr. Louis Joseph Rene Legier de Latour and Mrs. Jeanne Louise Fourmy. The maternal grandparents –Me. Francis Newman and Barbara Ronquille Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Me. Jean Francios Legier as also in that of Messrs. Eugene Lacoste and George Edouard Crozat both of this city, witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands together with me, after due reading hereof the day, month and year first above written.
