Forstall duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Births and Deaths in and for the parish and City of Orleans personally appeared, Mr. Jean Francois Legier, a native of this city aged thirty years and residing on Morales street between Marigny and Mandeville Streets in the third Municipality who by these presents declares that on the thirty-first day of August in the year eighteen hundred and thiry- nine was born in this city a female child named Alexandrine Emma Legier issue of the legitimate marriage of deponent with Miss Barbe Octavie Newman, a native of this city aged now about twenty-nine years. The paternal grandparents of said child being Mr. Louis Joseph Rene Legier de Latour & Jeanne Louise Fourmy. The maternal grandparents of said child being Mr. Francis Newman & Barbara Ronquille This done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Mr. Jean Francois Legier as also in that of Messrs. Theodule Livaudais & Antoine Oubre both of this city, witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands together with me after due reading hereof the day, month and year first above written.
