Crozat, duly commissioned and sworn Recorder Of Births and Deaths, in and for the Parish and City of Orleans personally appeared: Theodore Bigot a native of New Orleans residing on Main St. near Rampart in this city who by these presents declares that on the first day of October Eighteen hundred and Sixty three (October 1, 1863) at Six O'clock P.M. in a house on Liberty Street No. 282 in this city was born a male child named Thomas Rice issue of the lawful marriage of Barred (sic) Rice with Catherine Swords both natives of Ireland. THUS DONE at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Theodore Bigot and also in that of Paul Emile Crozat and A. A.
