Be It Remembered, That on this day to wit:  the Twenty third of 
March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty 
four and the eighty eighth of the Independence of the United States 
of America, before me, F.M. Crozat, duly commissioned and sworn 
Recorder Of Births and Deaths, in and for the Parish and City of Orleans 

personally appeared: 
Theodore Bigot a native of New Orleans residing on Main St. near Rampart 
in this city who by these presents declares that on the first day of 
October Eighteen hundred and Sixty three (October 1, 1863) at Six O'clock 
P.M. in a house on Liberty Street No. 282 in this city was born a male 
child named 

			Thomas Rice 

issue of the lawful marriage of Barred (sic) Rice with Catherine Swords 
both natives of Ireland. 


THUS DONE at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Theodore Bigot 
and also in that of Paul Emile Crozat and A. A. Laffendance both of this 
city, witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands 
together with me after due rending hereof, the day, month, and year first 
above written.
