Be it Remembered, That on this day, to-wit: the Sixth of May in 
the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy-Three 
and the ninety-seventh of the Independence of the United States 
of America, before me, H.M. Di***** duly commissioned Recorder 
of Births, Marriages and Deaths, in and for the Parish and City 
of New Orleans, 

personally appeared:
J.J. Steeg, a native of Gernamy, residing in this city, who hereby 
declares that on the Twenty-first of August last (August 21 1872), 
at 10 o'clock a.m. at the corner of Phillip & Clara Streets was 
born a female child named.

			Mary Allen [Ellen] Rooney

Lawful Issue of Henry Rooney and Elizabeth Howard [Howarth], both 
natives of England.

Thus Done at New Orleans, in the presence of the aforesaid J.J. 
Steeg as also in that of Messrs A.A. Lafferrannderri and A. 
Rodrigues both of this city witnesses, by me requested so to 
be, who have hereunto set their hands together with me, after 
due reading hereof, the day, month and year first above written.
