Be it remembered that on this day to wit: the third of March in the 
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and (thirty is struck out) 
forty and the sixty fourth of the Independance of the United States of 
America, before me Vincent Ramos duly commissioned and sword RECORDER 
OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, personally 
appeared Mr. 

Francis Schwab a native of Albersweiler mear the city of Landau Rhinbavaria 
in Germany, age thirty years blacksmith by trade and at present time Coffeehouse 
Keeper at the Corner of Victory and Enghien streets in the third municipality, 
who by these presents doth declare that on the third of March eighteen hundred 
and thirty nine in the morning between six and seven o'clock at the corner of 
Old Levee and Madison streets in the first municipality was born a female child 
named 

		Catherine Schwab 

from Mrs Catharine Barthel a native of Wasslenheim near Pfelzburg Department de 
Bas Rhin, Kingdom of France aged about 18 years and since two years the legitimate 
wife of the Dissonent.  The paternal grandparents of the said child being Mr Peter 
Schwab a native of the said Albersweiler & Mrs Mariane Hochberg a native of Arzheim 
near the said Landau and his maternal grandparents Bartholomacus (Orthold??) Barthel 
and Mrs Anna Marcia Drussel (or Drassel) both of the said Wasslenheim.

Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Mr Francois Schwab as also 
in that of Messrs. Theodore Hammer and Randolph Prosmgoffer(??) both of this city, 
witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands together with 
me after due reading hereof, the day month and year first above written.
