BE IT REMEMBERED That on this day to wit: the eighteenth of August 
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three 
and the sixty eighth of the Independance of the United States of 
America, before me Alfred E. Forstall duly commissioned and sworn 
RECORDER OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, 
personally appeared 

Mr. Francis Schwab a native of Albertsweiler canton of Annsweiler, 
Land-Commissariat of Bergzabern, Pfalz, Bavaria, about thirty three 
years of age, a blacksmith by profession but presently a Coffee=and 
BoradinghouseKeeper and domiciliated at the corner of Victory and 
Enghien streets in the third municipality of this city of New Orleans, 
who by these presents doth declare that on the fourth day of July this 
present year at two o'clock A.M. at the Bay St. Louis Hotel over the 
lake Ponchartrain was born a male child named 

		Francois Michel Schwab 

from his legitimate wife Catherine Barthel about twenty one years of age 
and born at Wasslenheim, canton, Pfalzburg, Department of the Meurthe (France). 
The paternal grandparents of the said child are Peter Schwab and Marianne Hochberg 
& the maternal grandparents Bartholomacus Arnold Barthel & Anna Maria Drussel. 

Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Mr Francois Schwab as 
also in that of Messrs. Randolph Horndorffer(??) and F. William Guntram both of 
this city, witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands 
together with me after due reading hereof, the day month and year first above written.
