M. Cruzal, duly commisioned and sworn RECORDER OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, personally appeared Mr. Denis Hernandez, residing in St Ann Street between Royal and Bourbon Streets in the first municipality who by these presents declares that Mateo Carreras a native of the Island of Minorca, Mahon, aged forty six years, died on the twenty seventh day of January of this present year (January 27, 1849) at half past eight o'clock P.M. at Algeirs, right bank of the river, in the parish. Thus done at New Orleans, in the presence of the aforesaid Mr. Denis Hernandez as also in that of Messrs. Eugene Laurenti y Pons(?) and (Emile Gonzalez(?) names are illegible) both of this city, witnesses requested so to be, who have hereto set their hands together with me, after reading hereof this day, month and year above written.
