All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Death Certificate for Gaignard, Rene Pierre Be it remembered, that on this day, to wit: the twenty fifth of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, personally appeared Mr. Rufino Thomas Fernandez, born at Galveston in this State of Louisiana, on the Sixteenth day of November in the year Seventeen hundred and ninety nine, keeper of the Records of the Catholic and Cathederal Church of St. Louis of this Parish of New Orleans residing on St. Ann Street between Conde and Royal Streets in this first Municipality, Who by these presents doth declare that Rene Pierre Gaignard, a native of Port-au-Prince in the Island of St Domingo, Republic of Haiti aged about thirty eight years, a Segar maker resident in this city for about thirty years, Departed this life on the twenty third day of this present month of July at six o'clock P.M. at the domicil of his half brother named Jean Louis Dufrene situated on Ursulines Street No. 153 between Dauphine and Burgundy Streets in this first Municipality. He was the legitimate son of [Rene Pierre Gaignard] and of Louise Laurent of this Parish and was [married] to Rosalie Barriere, a native of this City his surviving [consort].
