Be it remembered that on this day, to wit the Fifth of May in the year 
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy and the ninety-fourth
of the Independence of the United States of America, before me, L. Pessou, 
duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Birthsand Deaths in and for the 
Parish and City of New Orleans, personally appeared:

Rene Legier, a native of New Orleans residing No. 68 [?] Street in this 
city who hereby declares that

		Mrs. Rene Legier born Palmyre Leriche 

a native of Louisiana aged twenty-six years died on the twenty-first day 
of April of this present year (April 21st, 1870) at half past twelve 
o’clock midnight at No. 43 [?] Street third district in this city

Cause of death Puerperal
Certificate of Dr. D’Aquin

This done in the presence of the aforesaid Rene Legier as also in that of 
Messrs. A. A. Lafferandere & H. Colin both of this City, witnesses by me 
requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands, together with me, 
after due reading hereof the day, month, and year above written.
