This is, to the best of my knowledge, a true and correct typed copy 
of the original death record (Certified 2/27/2003, by Beth Davis, 
Archives Research) for my GGGrandfather, Gustave Potier, (records 
that I have, which include various census records and marriage records 
for daughter, show name as Pottier)

Be it Remembered, That on this day, to+wit, the Fourth of August in the year of
our Lord One thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Eight, and the One hundred and
thirtieth of the Independence of the United States of America, before me,(looks
like) C. A. Anderson, M.D., President Borad of heath and Ex-Officio Recorder
Of Births, Death, and Marriages in and for the Parish of Orleans, personally
appeared: Joseph (looks like)Lofin, undertaker, a native of this city, 
residing at ???114 N. Rampart St., who hereby declares that Gustave Potier
(colored) a native of this city, aged 75 years, departed this life, yesterday
(3 Aug 1880) at ??? 512 Bienville St, in this city.
Cause of Death:  Senile Debility???
Certificate of Dr. E. (looks like) Dufaquila

This done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid (looks like) J. Slopes, 
as also in that of Messrs. (looks like) T. H. Harange, a understaker,
both of this City witnesses, by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their 
hands together with me after reading herof, this day, month and
Year first above written
