Mr. William Rice, residing in this city 
on Gravier St., No. 255 (233?) near St. 
Peter St., who by these presents declares 
that his uncle, 

		Dr. John Rice,

a native of Ireland, aged about 75 years, 
died in this city at the St. Charles Hotel 
on this day (26 Nov., 1856) at about 1 
o'clock a.m.  

The deceased was a bachelor.

This done in New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Mr. William Rice,
Hugh B. Eggleston, and Thomas F. Cochran.
