20 Dec. 1872 P. Matsen, a native of Germany, 
residing at Hotel Dieu, in this city, who 
hereby declares that 

		James A. Rice, 

a native of Pennsylvania, aged 45 years, died 
on the 29th instant (Dec. 29, 1872) at Hotel 
Dieu.  

Cause of death:  dysentery. 

Certificate of Dr. D. Boyer.

This done in the presence of the aforesaid P. Matsen.
