23rd September, 1884 appeared C.L. Schoppe, 
an undertaker, a native of La., residing at 
No. 140 Louisiana Ave., who hereby declares 
that 

		John Rice (white) 

a native of Ireland, aged 65 years, departed 
this life yesterday, 22nd Sept. 1884, at No. 
4 Livaudais St. in this city.  

Cause of death, chronic dysentary. 

Certificate of Dr. R.J. Marnegan.

Deceased was married, 38 years in city, a laborer by occupation.
