All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ BE it remembered that on this day to wit, the seventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty and the sixty fourth of the Independence of the United States of America before me VINCENT RAMOS, duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Births and Deaths in and for the Parish and City of Orleans, personally appeared, Mr. John Roques born in the state of Ohio, one of the United States of America, on the second day of March of seventeen hundred eighty three, farmer in the Jefferson County in the state of Missouri, one of the United States of America, who by there presents doth declare, that his father Jacques Manuel Roques, a native of the kingdom of Hannover in Germany, Soldier in the United States Army, about sixty six years of age, Departed this life on the sixth day of July eighteen hundred and eight in the city of New Orleans and has been buried at the burial ground of the Catholic and Cathedral church of St. Louis of this Parish of New Orleans. The said late Mr. Jacques Manuel Roques was married to the late Ms Julie Braun, a native of Germany, and left only one child, the aforesaid John Roques. Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Mr. John Roques as also in that of Messrs. Rudolph ??? and ?? Blache?, both of this city, witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hand together with me after due reading hereof, the day, month and year first above written.
