Be it Remembered, that on this day, to-wit:  the Twenty Fourth of December 
in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Four and 
the ninety Ninth of the Independence of the United States of America, 
before me  G. Casanarie [ F. C. Antoine SCRATCHED OUT and G. Casanarie 
written in his place], duly commissioned and sworn Recorder of Births, 
Marriages and Deaths, in and for Parish and City of New Orleans, 

personally appeared: 
George Stechmann, a native of Altenbruch, Hanover, residing at No. 44 
Jeanne Street in this City, who, hereby declares that his mother 

	Mrs., Widow, Engel Elizabeth Stechmann, born Junggohann, 

a native of Altenbruch, Hanover, aged Seventy two years, Departed this 
life this day, December the Twenty-fourth instant in this present year 
(December 24th 1874) at Five o'clock A.M. at deponents aforesaid residence 
in this City. 

Cause of death  "Cardiac Valvular Disease" 

Certificate of Dr. J. Simmaud [?] 

Thus Done at New Orleans in the Presence of the aforesaid George Stechmann 
as also in that of Messrs. H. Colin & Jas. Davis both of this City, 
witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands, 
together with me after due reading hereof, the day, month and year first
