Father J. A. (can't make it out) on the 25th day of January 1893 between John P. Spellman (no age given) a native of Louisiana, son of Michael Spellman and Julia Nolan and Miss Carrie (Caroline) Peterson (no age given) a native of Louisiana, daughter of Martin Peterson and Mary Roach. The celebration of the marriage was performed in the presence of the witnesses Hannah Waldo, Maggie S. Shaw, and John M. Shaw. The License was issued on the 23rd day of January 1893 by Hon. P. H. Lanauze, Judge. **25th Anniversay write up says that they were married by Carrie's cousin, Bishop John Shaw, but the name on the certificate looks nothing like Shaw and has too many letters.
