[sic] Lambert, guardian of the minor Marie Elina Varmier, whose father and mother are both dead. Who, in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, declared to me that he gives his consent to the Marriage of said Marie Elina Varmier a Minor, aged twenty years, with Ernest J. Baudier. In Testimony Whereof, The appearer signed this his consent together with the witnesses, and me, the said Justice of the Peace, at the City of New Orleans, this Twelfth day of December 1860. Signed N. Lambert Before me, Ernest Morel, Fourth Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Orleans, Personally appeared N... [sic] Lambert and B. St. Cyr de la Houssaye who being duly sworn, did depose and say that they are well acquainted with Ernest J. Baudier who apply for a Marriage License and know him to be above the age of twenty-one years. Sworn to and subscribed before me; New Orleans, Dec. 12, 1860 Signed by N. Lambert, Jr. and B.S. Delahoussaye Ernest Morel Justice Be it Remembered, That Ernest J. Baudier as Principal, and B. S. St. Cyr de la Houssaye as Surety, acknowledge themselves indebted to the State of Louisiana in the sum of one thousand dollars. Whereas, The above bounded E. J. Baudier has applied to Ernest Morel, Fourth Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Orleans, and has obtained from him a License to Marry Miss Marie Elina Vannier. Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such, That in case within two years from this date it should not appear that there existed at the time of granting such License any legal impediment to said Marriage, then and in such case the above Obligation shall be null and void, or else it shall remain in full force and virtue.
