STATE OF LOUISIANA PARISH OF NEW ORLEANS No. 159 BEFORE ME, AUG. DUQUERERON, 5TH JUSTICE OF THE PEACE FOR THE PARISH OF ORLEANS,personally came and appeared James Welch and Thomas Farrell who being duly sworn depose and say that they are well acquainted with JNO Fitzpatrick + Miss Eliza Welch who apply for a marriage License, and them to be above the age of twenty-one years. Sworn to and subscribed before me, at New Orleans, on the 16th day of April, 1860. Judge (no signature) Be it remembered, That JNO Fitzpatrick as principal and James Welch as Surety acknowledged themselves indebted unto the State of Louisiana in the sum of One Thousand Dollars WHEREAS, the above bounden JNO Fitzpatrick has applied to the 5th Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Orleans, and has obtained from him a License to marry Miss Eliza Welch. NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That in case within two years, from this date, it should not appear that there existed at the time of granting such a License, any legal impediment to said marriage, then and in such case the above obligation shall be null and void, or otherwise, it shall remain in full force and virtue. THUS DONE AND SIGNED at the City of New Orleans the 16 day of April, 1860. STATE OF LOUISIANA No. 159 New Orleans, this 16 day of April, 1860 License is hereby granted to Reverend Monahan (or Monohan) in the city of New Orleans, to join in the Bond of Matrimony JNO Fitzpatrick and Eliza Welch on complying with the formalities required by law.
