I hereby revoke all former wills made by me. I hereby constitute and approve John R. Semmes a citizen of the State of Mississippi my lawful executor. I hereby will that after the payment of my just debts that the balance of my effects be given to Andrew G. Semmes, the only son of the said John R. Semmes. /s/ A. W. Semmes In the matter of the probate of an instrument in writing purporting to be the last will and testament of A. W. Semmes deceased} This cause coming on to be heard at this term and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court from the testimony of witnesses that the said instrument was wholly written and subscribed by the said A. W. Semmes himself, and that the said A. W. Semmes at the date of the execution of the same was of sound and disposing mind and memory and over twenty one years of age and had no fixed place of residence at the time of his death and that the greater part of the property bequeathed by said will consisted of personal estate in the County of Madison and State of Mississippi it is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed that said instrument in writing be and the same is hereby admitted to Probate as the last will and testament of the said A. W. Semmes deceased and that the same be recorded as such. Ordered adjudged and signed November 14th, 1859 /s/ Joseph Postell, Judge
