Lea Judge New Orleans 14th September 1842 I John Farrell M.D. of New Orleans, being in good health of body and mind do hereby make this my last will and testament. I give and bequeath to my dear wife Barbara Jane Farrell, all my property of any description with the exception of the sum of One thousand dollars to my sister Anna Farrell residing in Belfast Ireland the said sum to be paid to her on her attaining the age of Twenty One years the Interest to be paid her annually till that period. I desire my dear wife to pay to my father the sum of Three hundred dollars per annum or such further term as her means will admit of for the Support of himself and family, and I Constitute and appoint Barbara Jane Farrell and James Kirkman my executors Signed John Farrell Ne varietur 17th March 1854 J.N. Lea Judge Be it remembered that on this Seventeenth day of March 1854 in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty four and the 78th of the Independence of the United States of America Upon the application of Tatlow Jackson and pursuant to my decree bearing date herewith Before me J.N. Lea Judge of the district Court of New Orleans personally came and appeared Francis M. Corry & Richard J. Dyas witnesses who being duly sworn by me presented with a sealed packet sealed and closed with Black sealing Wax and bearing the following superscription to wit: "The last will and testament of John Farrell M.D. of the City of New Orleans Did declare and Say that the said superscription is in the proper hand writing of the late John Farrell. (proved 17th March 1854) _______________________ Another will for John Farrell (different date and executor - different sealing wax color): JOHN FARRELL, Book 9, page 534 "John Farrell Filed 17th March 1854 Ne Varietur New Orleans 17 March 1854 J.N. Lea Judge New Orleans 12th April 1853 I John Farrell M.D. of New Orleans Louisiana being of sound mind and body, do hereby make this my last will, and testament in which I will and bequeath to my wife Barbara Jane Farrell all my property of every description, and do hereby appoint her and Tatlow Jackson, of this City, my executrix and executor John Farrell Ne Varietur 17th March 1854 J.N.
