He married ELIZABETH CLOUD May 16, 1810 in Amite County, MS. Robert is listed in the 1820, 1830, and 1840 census of Ouachita Parish. Robert Dickerson had married a second time shortly before he died, to Martha Varden. Following are some items in the inventory of assets from his succession papers: Thirty two acres- $400 One negro woman, Jane, aged about ?7 years- $600 One dun horse- $30 One bay mare- $20 Forty-five head of cattle, more or less- $225 Sixty-five head of hogs, moreor less- $227 One set blacksmith tools- $25 (Note: Robert's son John is listed on the 1870 census as a blacksmith.) Dickerson died intestate in July last, leaving considerable estate and heirs: Lehu Dickerson, John Dickerson (the petitioner), brothers and Robert Netherlin and Minerva Netherlin, wife of Frank Rogers, children of Nelly Dickerson, a sister of decd, majors; and Robert Dickerson and Lehu Dickerson, children of Robert Dickerson, decd. brother of decd, minors; all of Ouachita Parish. John Dickerson sought the adm, and an inventory 22 Sep 1863. Inv. Taken 23 Sep 1863 by Francis M. Smith and Woodward H. Coats, with Robert L. Whyte and John Ray, witnesses. Inv. Total appraisement $1,831.00" JOHN DICKERSON was born 1822. He married MARY ANN CLOUD March 13, 1845 in Ouachita Parish, LA. Mary Ann Cloud was the daughter of WILLIAM CLOUD and REBECCA ROE. John was listed on the 1870 census as a blacksmith. Mary Ann Cloud may have been of Indian heritage and some family papers refer to her as Lasafiene Cloud. William Dickerson signed the marriage bond with Isham R. Nettles and W.D. McDonald as witnesses. Children of JOHN DICKERSON and MARY CLOUD are: - LAURA A. She married DAVID NASHVILLE WALTERS January 02, 1872 in Cadeville, LA, son of DANIEL WALTERS and NICEY. David Nashville Walters enlisted in the Confederate Army May, 1864 at Marksville, LA in the 28th Louisiana Infantry Regiment, known as Gray's Command, with the division commanded by Gen.
