KILLING IN LOUISIANA  Dallas Morning News Nov. 24, 1905
C. Waite of Monroe Receives Shots and Arrest is Made
Special to the News Shreveport, La., Nov 23
News reached here this afternoon of a killing near 
West Monroe, in Ouachita Parish.  The victim, C. Waite, is well known in and 
around Monroe, where he resided.  Accordiing to accounts received, Waite, 
while on a ride in the country with a man whom he believed to be his friend, 
received three shots, all of which took effect in the back penetrated the 
body, Waite dying in a short time afterward.
Thomas Maddox is under arrest upon a warrant charging him with the killing.  
Maddox was brought to this city and locked in the parish jail upon an order 
of District Judge Hall.
