On the night mentioned she seemed to be in her usual good spirits and nothing unusual was suspected. As usual, just before night a fire was built in her house and water brought to her and she was left setting by the fire. The next morning when one of the family went to look after her wants a ghastly spectacle was presented, she having fallen from her chair into the fire. No signs of a struggle were visible. Nearly all of her clothing was burned off, and the front of her body was burned almost to a crisp. Her pipe and knife were found lying near her and appeared as though she had cleaned it previous to having a smoke. She was between 80 and 90 years of age. # # #
