Dr. Cage, coroner, viewed a dead body this morning on the opposite side 
of the river, about a mile above the upper Pargoud plantation. The body 
is supposed to have been that of Willis Davis, colored, who while drunk 
fell out of a skiff on the 17th ult., and was drowned. The testimoney 
(sic) adduced at the inquest proved conclusively that Davis was drunk 
on that day and falling out of the skiff, was as above stated drowned.
