The marshal of Olla, Jesse Ruddell, shot and killed Joe Johnson Sunday morning. Johnson was an employe [sic] of the Smith & Adams Lumber Co., and was a son of Mrs. S.A. Johnson of Monroe. He created a disturbance and resisted arrest. He had gotten the marshal down and was pummeling him, when the latter pulled his pistol and shot him through the [ ]. He died almost instant [ ] remains were brought [ ] Monday and interred [ ] cemetery. # # #
