Smith, who recently killed Tim Wilson, also colored, on the same place, by knocking him in the head with an axe, and who was recently indicted by the grand jury for murder, is now on trial, the evidence not having been closed when the court adjourned for lunch. Benjamin is represented by Major [F.]P. Stubbs, Jr. Police officer Heekin will be tried tomorrow for killing Ed Houston, the charge being manslaughter. # # #
