Carson of Madison parish near Tallulah last Saturday morning and wounded two men named Russell and Wright of the bridge gang. Russell and DeLee were in a dispute, when the latter fired, wounding Russell and accidentally wounding Wright. Carson heard of the trouble and went to the camp to arrest DeLee, who hid himself behind the car door and fired at Carson as he entered the car, missing him. Carson returned the fire, hitting DeLee, who ran out of the car ; and when Carson followed, DeLee, who was armed with a Winchester shotgun, fired twice at him, five buckshot striking Carson in the neck, breaking it. DeLee is in jail and there is great excitement over the deed. # # #
