Helen McLeod Run Over by Wagon on Way to School. Helen McLeod, the little seven-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex McLeod, met with an unfortunate accident about 8:30 o'clock this morning, which cost her life thirty minutes later. The little girl, with her brother, Dick McLeod, a year her senior, and Elbert Mounger, soon after leaving their homes in Trenton on their way to the city school were overtaken by a farmer, who invited the children to get into his wagon and ride to town. The children climbed in and were all as merry as could be, little dreaming of the fate soon to befall one of their number. When in front of Mr. Chapple's residence a piece of tin caught in one of the wagon wheels and little Helen leaned over to see it. She lost her balance and fell to the ground, both front and hind wheels passing over her chest. The wagon was stopped as quickly as possible and she was put back on the seat. She declared she was not hurt and a start was made to continue the journey, when the owner of the wagon saw her condition. He turned and hurried to the little girl's home, where she died in fifteen minutes, before a physician could reach her bedside. No blame can be attached to anyone. It was one of those unforeseen unfortunate accidents that will occur. The heartbroken father and mother have the sympathy of the entire community in their sudden loss. # # #
