Huttig, Nov. 14.-Edward Turner, a resident of Felsenthal, was run over and his head nearly crushed off three miles southeast of that place at 6:30 o'clock Saturday night by a train on the narrow gauge railway used by G.C. Hodgson & Co., the contractors of lock and dam No. 6 on the Ouachita river, five miles south of Felsenthal. Justice of the Peace Fred Poole of Lapile held an inquest this morning at 9 o'clock and after hearing the testimony of eight witnesses the jury adjourned until next Thursday, when it is expected more evidence will be brought out from the evidence this morning. Ten of the jury were convinced that he had met with foul play and had been placed on the track to conceal the crime. Turner had been down to the lock and dam during the day and was drinking some, but not enough, witnesses claimed, to cause him to lay down on the track and go to sleep. Other witnesses claim his body was not warm immediately after being run over and very little blood was noticed, although his head was nearly crushed from his body. # # #
