The Ouachita Telegraph - Man Found Dead Behind Sim's Grocery Date: May 2000 Submitted by: Lora Peppers ********************************************** Copyright. A man was found dead Tuesday morning in rear of Sim's grocery. A careful investigation of all the circumstances, appears to leave no doubt that the deceased person (whose name is unknown) was not long since discharged from the hospital at Vicksburg, came to Monroe in bad health, was unable to work — sick, weary and done with life — and upon the night of his death wandered from his bed, and fell close by, sick unto death, and died there, probably without murmur or groan. Possibly, some mother, sister, or, mayhap, wife, far off, will look many a day, and look in vain, for the poor fellow whose death we chronicle. # # #
