Hathaway was tried at the recent term of the District Court in Bossier for murder, and was acquitted by the jury. He was charged with killing his brother-in-law. Hathaway is the man who, just before the election, shot and wounded two freedmen near this city, was arrested by the citizen soldiery and brought to jail charged with an attempt to murder. He was ironed in jail, but managed to get out in a general jail delivery. The chain around his leg, however, retarded his flight, and he was recaptured and put back in prison. He was then taken to Bossier on the charge of which he has been acquitted. He is a very cool, daring fellow. What the authorities of Ouachita will do in his case, or have done, we are not informed. # # #
