Robert Carter, a darkey, was chasing a hog and endeavoring to shoot it, his gun loaded with buck-shot. The hog, at length, reached a place where Carter could fire. Intent on killing the hog, Carter fired, and the hog was killed. The two little darkies were off a short distance, but in range. One was killed instantaneously, the other dying from a wound in the back shortly after, from the same discharge of the gun. Dr. Murphy, the coroner of the parish, held an inquest, and the verdict of the jury was in accordance with this statement. When a colored citizen is after a hog, everybody, children particularly, as well as the hog, should get out of the way. # # #
