It seems that Judge J.J. Lyons was interested in a printing office, and had in his employment a young man formerly from Ouachita parish by the name of Arthur W. Ashley, whom he discharged on account of some disagreement. Ashley threatened to kill Lyons, and Thursday evening meeting him, pulled his pistol and shot him dead in his tracks. Ashley is well known in Ouachita and Jackson parishes, and is well connected. He passed through here Thursday night, and was met by your correspondent Saturday morning, two days ahead of the officers. # # #
