Last Wednesday night Alex Munch and Owens Reiley got into a difficulty at the residence of Joe Malikowski which resulted in Munch’s being fatally cut. He died yesterday morning at his wife’s residence. It seems that Munch had gone to Malikowski’s and was abusing Reiley; the lie was passed and Munch, who was a powerful man, struck Reiley a fearful blow. Reiley then drew his knife and used it with deadly effect, stabbing Munch in several places in the breast, and lower part of the abdomen. Reiley escaped and has not been apprehended. The general opinion is that he acted in self defense and that he would have no trouble in obtaining an acquittal a the hands of a jury. Alexander Munch was born in Germany in 1850 and was consequently in the 37th year of his age. He was a blacksmith by trade and was an industrious, hardworking man. # # #
