All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Ouachita Telegraph Saturday, November 24, 1888 Page 3, Column 1 Mr. Rush Thompson a machinist at the railroad shops, fell from a shafting in the shops Monday morning and sustained injuries from which he died the same day. The fall was only about 15 feet but he was a very heavy man, weighing a few days before his death 110 pounds, and he struck upon some upright jackscrews which crushed in several of his ribs and caused internal injuries which proved fatal. Mr. Thompson was a native of Atlanta, Ga., where he has three children now living, their mother being also dead. He has a brother living there who is said to be a lawyer and in good circumstances. The remains were shipped to Atlanta for interment Tuesday morning. # # #
