The Monroe Bulletin Thursday, May 23, 1901 Page 4, Column 5 A West Carroll Letter. The Masonic fraternity officiated at the funeral of their deceased brother, H.D. Briggs. Delhi Lodge was well represented. The Monroe Bulletin Thursday, October 24, 1901 Page 3, Column 2 D'Arbonne, Oct. 15. Our community was made sad on the 7th by the death of Clara, the devoted wife of W.W. Brewster. She was a devoted wife, a kind mother, and has not an enemy. She leaves a grieved husband and seven children to mourn her loss, with many relatives and friends. She was buried at New Hope burial ground on the 8th, with funeral services at the church by Rev. Barnette Wright. The Monroe Bulletin Thursday, October 24, 1901 Page 3, Column 3 Cadeville, Oct. 19. It pains us to here record the death of Mr. W.N. Jones of Gueydan, who formerly was a resident of this parish. He died at his home in South Louisiana on 15th inst., leaving a wife and six little children to mourn his loss. It seems that the grim reaper is abroad in our land and country taking both young and old. There have been more sermons, more prayers uttered this season and better revivals, more conversions than has been known in ten years. May all the services prepare us for our long home. The Monroe Bulletin Thursday, October 24, 1901 Page 3, Column 3 Crew Lake, Oct. 24. - The health around Crew Lake is not good. We have had several deaths. Mr. Jim Hardwick lost his oldest son, Willie. He was nearly 5 years old. They have the sympathy of all. Mr. Malone, of Wynn Island, lost a little girl last week. Josiah Benton, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Honneycutt, died Oct. 8th. He was a very bright boy and his death greatly grieved his parents and their friends.
