Funeral services for Paul Edward Abide Sr., 86, of Greenville, MS, will be 
Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in 
Greenville, MS, with Father Richard Somers officiating. Interment will be at 
Greenville City Cemetary under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home in 
Greenville, MS.

Visitation will be Monday, August 21, 2006 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at St. 
Joseph Catholic Church. Wake service will be at 7:00PM also at St. Joseph 
Catholic Church in Greenville, MS.
Paul Abide Sr. died August 18, 2006 at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton 
Rouge, LA. He was a lifelong resident of Greenville, MS, and a member of St. 
Joseph Catholic Church where he served as Honorary Chairman of the St. Joseph 
Capital Campaign Building Fund. Pastoral Council of St. Joseph Catholic 
Church. Past President of St. Joseph School Council and St. Joseph Athletic 
Association.

He was also a member of Greenville Homebuilders serving as President several 
times. Also he served as a past President of the Greenville Board of Realtors 
& Past President of the Greenville Appeal Board.

He was a peaceful man and healer of relationships. A quiet leader, non 
judgemental. He was a devoted Husband, Father, & Grandfather. He was also Co-
Founder of Greenville Boys Club.

He is suvived by his wife, Wadel Elias Abide of Greenville, MS; daughters: 
Samera Louise Abide, Dr. Bonda Ann Abide, and Mary Paulette Abide, all of 
Baton Rouge, LA; sons: William Peter Abide Sr. (Rose Karam) of Haley, ID, Dr. 
Paul Edward Abide Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Andrew Abide Sr. (Cynthia 
Miller), and George Micheal Abide (Angela Marchbanks), both of Greenville, MS; 
sisters: Gloria Abide Kelley (Camille) of New Orleans, LA, and Alice Abide 
Duncan of Greenville, MS; brothers: Mitchell Abide Sr. (Patricia) of Lake 
Village, AR and George Abide Sr. (Sharon) of Springdale, AR; and 14 
grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paul Edward Abide Sr. Memorial 
Trust benifiting St. Joseph School, P.O. Box 1220, Greenville, MS 38702.
