ADAMS Funeral services for Sam B. Adams will be Friday August 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Jerry Linhares from Starkville, MS, officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA. Visitation will be Thursday August 23, 2012 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Sam was born December 8, 1935 in Sun, LA, to the union of his parents, Sam Bernard Adams, Sr. and Vera Jenkins Adams. He passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Geraldine Adams, sister and brother-in-law, Ludelia and Malcomb Knight from Bogalusa, LA, sister Lorraine Wallace from Lake Jackson, TX, and brother-in-law, Edwin Tynes from Bogalusa, LA, and brother-in-law Marty Lane Campbell from Shreveport. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nell Campbell Adams; daughter and son- in-law, Michelle and Jesse O. White and their children Adam and Austin; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lori Glawe Adams and their son Sean Michael; sister and brother-in-law, Nanetta and Ubert Terrell, Sun, LA; sister, Faye Tynes of Bogalusa; brother-in-law, Behrman Wallace, Lake Jackson, TX; sister- in-law, Frances Anne Parker Campbell, Shreveport, LA; and many nieces, nephews, and their families, and by a host of friends, neighbors and his business associates. Sam attended Tulane University and graduated from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He began his career with International Harvester Company then joined the Scott Truck and Tractor Company in Monroe over 43 years ago. Four years ago he and his family bought Scott Truck, LLC and Scott Idealease and continued to run a very successful company. Mr. Adams was Past President of the Deep South Equipment Dealers Association and served on the Salvation Army Board, Board of Scott Equipment Co. LLC, and Board of Thomas H. and Mamye P. Scott Foundation. Pallbearers will be Jesse O. White, Adam White, Jimmy Whitman, Ted Gibson, Rob Foster and Stan Huffty. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Bershen, Tom Scott, Robert Foster, Behrman Wallace, Ubert Terrell, K.D. Auger, Kenneth Jordan, Rick Snyder and Susan Hoffmann. Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy in Monroe, Louisiana Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, the United Way of Ouachita Parish or the charity of your choice. The family gives heartfelt appreciation to the medical care given by Dr. Mahmoud Khalil, Dr. Warren Daniel and to the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, especially Dr. Jennifer Ramsey of the Clinic originally from Monroe, LA.
