Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church from 11:30 PM until time of service. Mrs. Adams was born on January 13, 1921 in New Orleans, LA to the union of Peter John Poelman and Mary Feeley Poelman and left this life to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. Mrs. Adams was a dedicated and faithful member of her church, St. John's Catholic Church. She was involved in mental health issues and served as a board member for the Caldwell Mental Health. Over the years she enjoyed gardening and more recently has taken up bird watching. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Roy Adams, II, D.D.S.; son, John Poelman Adams; brother, Peter Jack Poelman and her grandson, John Michael May. Survivors include her two sons: Lee Roy Adams, III and wife, Meloney and Peter Linus Adams; four daughters: Mary Riser, Sally Drinkhouse, Elizabeth "Betty" Smith and husband, Kenneth and Katherine McLendon and husband, G. Wallace; eight granddaughters: Therese Nagen and husband, Sammy, Dr. Leigh Liles and husband, Dr. Bart, Anna Holloway and husband, Kyle, Kendra Collins and husband, Dave, Katherine Smith, Jaclyn Hall and husband, Bradley, Julia Katherine French and husband, Iassac and Eva Marie Drinkhouse; fifteen great-grandchildren; two lifelong friends: Edith Godfrey Laveseur and Billie Gartman and many other close friends. Pallbearers will be Sammy Nagem, Dr. Bart Liles, Kyle Holloway, Dave Collins, Bradley Hall and Iassac French. Honorary pallbearers will be Monty Adams, Sr., Monty Adams, Jr., Curt Adams, Blake Adams and Christopher Blake Adams. Any planned memorials may be made to St. Jude's, Paralyzed Veterans or the Caldwell Mental Health.
