Whit Stodghill officiating. Private interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Coy died Thursday, December 8, 2016, at home after a lengthy illness. She was born January 17, 1937, in Monroe, to Edwin "Bun" and Katherine Theus. She attended Neville High School and Louisiana Tech. She met Jay at Neville and he would be her husband for 59 years. Coy enjoyed time with family and friends, fishing, reading and the 24 years of Jay's retirement in Colorado and Arizona, and visiting her son, Bill, in Perdido Key, FL, but Monroe was always home. She was a member of the Junior League, Monroe Garden Study League, Colonial Dames of America and the Fort Miro chapter of the DAR. Coy was a member of Grace Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and later St. Alban's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and a member of the Vestry. Coy was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine T. and Edwin K. Theus; sister, Lynn McDonald; and brother, Ed Theus. She was survived by her husband, Jay Adams; son, William Adams of Pensacola, FL; brother Ed's wife, Mary and their two children, Ellen and Ken; nephew; Ken (Katy) McDonald; and niece, Katherine Bourg (John) and their children, Reid and Blair. Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016, at Mulhearn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Alban's Episcopal Church.
