She was born on December 9, 1928, in Winnsboro. She grew up in the Pine Grove Co Community where friends and family helped them survive extreme poverty. While in in the third grade, Mr. Joe Dante selected her to sing patriotic songs for the Li Lion's Club meetings, her singing career was launched. She would sing at the Li Lion's Club fundraisers where had a considerable impact on their fund raising pr programs; she also entertained the troops at Selman Field. When she was 15 she be begin singing professionally at the Starlight Ballroom in Dallas. Because of he her love for fashion and decorating, she modeled for several businesses and je jewelers in Lake Charles. All her friends and family enjoyed her beauty tips an and flea market find designs. She was a volunteer Sunday school teacher at the Ve Veterans Hospital, a project very dear to her. She is survived by her only child, Carmen Bankston Kramer and husband Michael; grandchildren Michael Blake Kramer and wife Kim, Aimee Kramer Smedley and husband Nigel; great grandchildren: Garrett Kramer, Matthew Kramer, Paul Kramer, Ellie Katherine Kramer, Joseph Michael Kramer and Violet Smedley. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the chapel Gill First National Funeral Home with Dr. J. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 - 7 pm Friday January 20, 2017 at 2017 at the funeral home with a 6 pm Rosary service. The family request that any planned memorials be made to Northeast Louisiana Veter Veterans Home in Monroe or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
