BENNIE AINSWORTH Riser Funeral Home Columbia, La. Funeral services for Mr. Bennie Ainsworth, age 89, of Columbia will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday November 4, 2008 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow in the Lowe Cemetery at Kelly. The Ainsworth family will receive visitors on Monday Nov. 3, 2008 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Mr. Ainsworth ,a retired officer with the United States Army, died Saturday November 1, 2008 at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia following a lengthy illness. James Bennie Ainsworth, Jr. was born on September 17, 1919 in Caldwell Parish to the union of James Bennie Ainsworth, Sr. & Nancy Cupples Ainsworth. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his step mother Mrs. Bessie Ainsworth and by eleven brothers and sisters. He was a multi medal recipient in World War II among them The Purple Heart. Survivors include one son Ronnie Ainsworth of Louisville, KY; Grandson T. Roy Robertson of Galliano,LA; a special Niece Vera Thornhill of West Monroe; three step sons and one step daughter, three sisters; Lille Mae Stone and husband Huey, Alma Vestal, and Avis Wilkes all of Columbia; three brothers Myron J. Ainsworth of Clarks. Hugh Ainsworth and wife Audrey of Monroe, and Marvin Ainsworth and wife Geneva of Texas. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
