Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Alexander was born on August 7, 1918 in Danville, AR and passed away on May 4, 2014 in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church West Monroe, LA, where she also worked in the Nursery for 57 years. Mrs. Alexander raised 82 foster children throughout the years. She was a loving mother and sister to her family and her foster children. Mrs. Estelle is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Harold Alexander; sons-in-laws, Moon Fountain and Miles Tolleson; and by her grandsons, Christopher Douglas and Michael H. Howard. Survivors include her three daughters, Dorothy Alexander Tolleson, Jo Ann Alexander Jenkins and husband, Ralph, and Barbara Alexander Douglas and husband, Randy; son, Arthur Alexander and wife, Lynn; grandchildren, Douglas Howard, Debra Conner, and Amanda Sanford; 9 great grandchildren, Lacey, Nathan and Kerri Howard, Amber and Heather Lowery, Dakota Hayden, Gage, Carter and Addyson Sanford; great-great grandson, Eli; sisters, Edith Smalling, Emma Jean Montpelier, Kat Ellard and husband, Carl, and Lillie Mae Dean; along with numerous nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ben Sanford, James Freeman, Doug Howard, Carl Ellard, Ralph Jenkins, and Gary Montpelier. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 5, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church West Monroe, LA.
