ALLEN Funeral services for Mr. Willie Lee Allen, Jr., age 60 of Choudrant, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday February 7, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant. Rev. Brad Jones will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Allen was born May 4, 1952 in Rayville to Willie Lee Allen, Sr. and Corneila Shipley Allen. He died at his home in Choudrant February 3, 2013. Mr. Allen was a truck driver and later the owner and operator of a lawn care service. In his spare time, he enjoyed working in his yard and was an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends at both Scarborough and Pleasant Grove hunting clubs. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife: Diane Thompson Allen; his children: Jeffery Allen and wife Sarah of Mooresville, NC, Christina Allen of West Monroe, Toni Thomas of West Monroe, Michelle and husband Mike Polk of Choudrant, Misti and husband David Smith of Simsboro and Brandon McElroy and wife Lacey of Choudrant; 12 grandchildren; his brother: Billy Aaron of West Monroe; his sisters: Bettye Spencer of Rayville, Shirley Bledsoe of Rayville and Judy Dianne Hendricks of Shreveport; his special mother-in-law: Mary Thompson as well as his nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife: Beverley Sue Hilliard Allen. Pallbearers will be: Mike Polk, David Smith, Billy Lewis, Justin Lewis, Kasey Baker and Chris Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be: Hosey Lee, Dean Williamson, Donnie Eimpson, Gary Wayne Neal, Bill Walker, Woody Funderburk and Kenneth Hilliard. Visitation will be from noon until service time at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant Thursday, February 7. Memorial donations may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
