Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. A native of Monroe and a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Mrs. Allen was called home to the Lord on May 22, 2009, at the age of 72 in Texas. Zola was an artist, volunteer, church choir member, pianist, caregiver, and gourmet cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther M. and Myrtle Blair Parish and her brother, Fred M. Parish. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, James W. "Bill" Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Rick Myrick; grandsons she adored: Colin Murray, Christian and Corey Myrick; four beloved nieces and two nephews. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe, LA on Monday, May 25, 2009, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
