ALLEN Memorial services for Willie L. Allen, Sr. "Bill", 92, Springfield, formerly of Branson and Monroe, LA, will be Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at 2PM in the Hollister Presbyterian Church. Rev. Phyllis Winzinreid will officiate. Graveside service with full military rites will be at 1PM in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Services are under the direction of Snapp- Bearden Funeral Home, Branson. Mr. Allen passed away Sunday morning Oct. 25 at the Mercy Hospital, Springfield. Willie Lane Allen, Sr. was born Dec. 7, 1922 in Marion, LA. He was the son of Tyra H. and Pearl (Murphy) Allen. Bill graduated from the Marion High School. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy serving in the Philippines and Australia among other locations. When he returned to the states, Bill attended Northeast Louisiana State University where he received an associate degree. Bill owned and operated a Dodge Dealership in Monroe, LA. He was President of the National Dodge Dealership Council. They moved from Monroe, LA to Hollister, Branson and finally Springfield. Bill was an Elder in the Presbyterian Chapel at College of the Ozarks, and the Hollister Presbyterian Church, Hollister. Bill married the love of his life, Rema Farr, on Dec. 22, 1946 in Monroe, LA. They had celebrated sixty-eight years together this past winter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one step brother John Hodge and one step sister Milrene Rupple. Bill is survived by his loving wife Rema of the home; one son Lane Allen, Jr. of Springfield; four daughters Jane Huffstetler (David) of Branson; Martha Sparrow of Knoxville, TN; Carol Miller (Stephen) of Branson; Lydia Allen of Branson; one half brother Spencer Allen (Jane Lee) of Marion, LA; one half sister Melba Pouland of Zavala, TX; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
